I know. I know. It’s almost a month since it aired the season final. I had always want to write something about it. You know how that goes… life always gets in the way.
And you know what, I just watched the whole season in 1 seating and just wanted to write something about it. I read many reviews and recaps for the show. Some I agreed and some I disagreed.
At this moment, we still don’t know if we are getting the 2nd season. You can sure to follow the news at #constantine.

I have friends asked if it’s worth their 40 mins of their time to watch it, I said yes. It’s entertaining. Matt Ryan is great as Constantine. There are some humors here and there. There are great VFX for the network TV. Sadly, it had some rather bad writings and that did not help the show at all.
(As you can see, I keep using the word of “network TV” and it has a very real reason — with limited budget and various rules, a.k.a. nudity… those big F, S words…. smoking…..)
Once you accept the fact that this show’s on network with limited budgets and various silly rules, you would find that the show wasn’t that bad and it’s actually rather good.
Honestly, it’s been a very very long time since I watch any network TV. This show was my first time that I sat in front of the TV and watched it live. I never like any superheros in capes, tights, and masks. Or maybe I never really like superheros at all. What’s the deal with them anyway… they fly down from somewhere, kick some butts, and get the girls. huh?????? I was pulled to watch the Dark Knight and slept through half of it.
On the other hand, Constantine is a guy that just like the bloke who would sit next to me at the pub, downing pints, chain smoking, swearing nonstop, and wearing normal people clothing. No Cape, no mask, and NO NO NO tights. (come on…. why the tights… why…. I think that the only people allow to wear tights in public are dancers, actors on stage, and girls who wear short skirts. Besides these 3 types of people, no one should allow t0 wear tights at all in any public area. Leave alone wear their underpants outside their tights. Of course, it just my 2 cents.)
Maybe in my life, I really don’t need any superhero to save my life. My friend asked me once, “what if you have problems and don’t you want a superhero to come and save you?”
I took for a moment and said, “hmmm.. thanks but NO thanks. I think that I can handle it myself.”
I don’t know about anyone but Hellblazer is always one of my top favorites. I was so excited to see it on small screen. Matt Ryan is one of my favorite actors too. (Did you watch Flypaper? If you didn’t, Netflix has it. Matt did a great job with a pretty bad script. He really stood out from all the others. It’s worth watching just for him. I actually watched it twice and my 2nd time, I skipped all the rest and just watched Matt.)
Growing up reading Manga and animations, I know that there’s always for some unknown reasons, the adopted animations…. SUCK. (I am not even going to the live action movie adoptions. The latest one that I regret to spend my 10 mins of my life was Black Butler. I almost killed myself after 10 mins into that movie. That’s another story another post. Did you hear about Scarlett Johansson will be in Ghost in the Shell?)
